We collect only essential data required to provide our educational service and synchronize your learning progress:
- Account Information: First name, chosen username, and email address.
- Profile Details: University or educational institution, country of origin, and referral source.
- Learning Progress & Activity: Progress in metabolic pathways, earned XP points, daily learning streaks, quiz scores, and university leaderboard rank.
- Technical Identifiers: Authentication session tokens managed securely via Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud Platform).
3. Purpose of Processing
Your data is processed strictly for the following purposes:
- Delivering interactive biochemistry learning materials and synchronizing your progress across web and mobile devices.
- Computing and displaying global and university leaderboards.
- Moderating usernames to maintain a respectful and safe educational environment.
- Improving application features and user experience.
4. Data Sharing & International Transfers
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertisers (CCPA Compliance). Data is hosted securely on Firebase (Google Cloud Infrastructure) with industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL). Data transfers across borders comply with international adequacy standards and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
5. Your Global Data Rights & Account Deletion
Regardless of your location, you hold full rights to access, rectify, export, or permanently delete your account and data (Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v) & GDPR Article 17):
- Open the Settings tab inside the Biochimio app.
- Select Delete My Account.
- Confirm by checking the mandatory acknowledgment box.
Account deletion immediately and permanently erases your profile, authentication records, leaderboard ranks, and all learning history from our servers.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Age Limit)
Biochimio is designed for university students and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain EU jurisdictions). If you believe a minor has registered without consent, contact us for prompt removal.
